Marty and I are both so unbelievably happy and shocked to have won this prize. It
really means so much to us and it has given us such an amazing head start with our
wedding plans! We couldn't have wished for better prizes and we are so grateful
to bookourwedding.com and all the sponsors for all their generosity.
I'd also like to say a big thank you to both our families and all our friends for
all their votes and hardwork. We didn't think we would win, but thanks to everyone
who voted we can now start planning for our special day! The whole process was a
joy to be involved in and we can't thank the organisers enough for everything that
they have done! Bronagh and fiancé Marty have won a wedding package valued at over
£6000. This fantastic wedding package can be viewed below.

who was crowned the 2010 Bookourwedding.com Bride-of-the-Year and won a wedding
package valued at over £6000

How the wedding competition unfolded...
The 2010 bride of the year competition began early September and resulted in hundreds
of brides-to-be from every county in the North of Ireland entering the competition.
Unfortunately only four couples were successful in reaching the final and they travelled
to the Ramada Hotel Belfast on Sunday 10thOctober 2010 to take part in the 2010
Bookourwedding.com bride of the year final. The couples travelled from counties
Down, Antrim, Derry and Tyrone. Among the finalists were Lianne O’Neill and fiancé
Kevin Mc Lernon both from Rasharkin, Elaine Cullen from Fintona and fiancé Eamonn
Mc Conway from Limavady, Bronagh Darragh from Belfast and fiancé Marty McGreevy
from Darragh Cross and Danielle Doherty from Newry and fiancé Michael Leneghan from
Newcastle.

Prior to the final, pictures of each of the four finalists and their wedding proposals
had been published in the Sunday World where the public was then given the chance
to vote for their favourite wedding proposal. The bride who received the highest
number of text votes was then revealed and crowned the Bookourwedding bride of the
year. The four couples were welcomed on stage by compère Alan Mc Kelvey and Alison
Campbell from the Alison Campbell Model Agency revealed the name of the winning
bride.

Bronagh Darragh, Belfast
The wedding proposal that swept Bronagh off her feet and resulted in Bronagh & Marty
winning a dream wedding package
After two years of long distance Marty moved to Kent, England to be with me. Within
this year he booked a 4 day break to Venice and an amazing hotel. After a day of
walking around Venice, seeing the sights and taking a ride on a gondola, we walked
to a riverside cafe which served beautiful wine. We sat holding hands and watching
the boats go by and after a while he asked if we could go back to the hotel and
get ready for dinner. It had been such an amazing day that we decided to stop off
at a local shop which sold champagne and purchased a bottle of Dom Pérignon, and
while we were buying this, a lady shouted over, "Did you just get engaged?!" I replied,"No
way, its been five years and he still hasn’t pulled his finger out!" We then went
back to the hotel room and when I came out of the bathroom, Marty asked me to sit
down for a minute. Marty had poured out two glasses of champagne then the next thing
I remember was Marty explaining how much he loved me and how he wanted to spend
the rest of his life with me and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry
him!

Christmas morning, he said well open your card then and I did as I thought he had
