Wedding Photography

Your wedding album will provide you with a lasting memory of your big day therefore it is well worth hiring a professional for the day.

Finding the right wedding photographer is as much about personality as it is about being an excellent wedding photographer.  The approach must be professional and the photographer must have a good understanding of your wishes.  You will want to be able to recall every moment of that day.

A good photographer must be helpful and unobtrusive and needs to be able to manage people, persuade them to pose and not take up too much of your time.

Before you make a final decision on your wedding photographer you may want too few samples of their work. Viewing other wedding albums will give you an idea of how similar or how different you would like your album to be.  You may also wish to speak to friends/family for advice as they may be familiar with their work.  You will also want to be sure of the cost involved as photographers can vary enormously in price.

It is important to spend time with your photographer in advance of your big day.  During this time you can discuss your individual requirements.  You may wish to make a list of what you would like to be photographed.  Generally you will want to have photos taken of the bridal party getting ready, the groom, bestman, ushers and guests arriving at the church, the bride and her father arriving at the Church and the wedding party leaving the church. You will also need to consider the style of photographs you would like, i.e. formal, informal, artistic, etc.

It is probably best that you make arrangements with your photographer to visit your home, place of ceremony and reception so that they are familiar with the surroundings.

In addition to having your own wedding photographer it has now become quite common for couples to put disposable flash cameras on each table at the reception and ask the guests to take photographs. This way you get some very personal and informal pictures as well.
